Owens Illinois - Brockport Plant

This is the Owens Brockport Plant in 1997, just before it was demolished. The plant operated from 1961 to 1985 according to this article in Westside News. A few years ago while learning how to use Photoshop, I tried to recreate what it might have looked like when the tower was freshly painted: (click images for larger view)

This was taken around Christmas of 1985, one year before they closed the Brockport Plant. The closing was included in a Time Magazine Article. (click for a larger view)

Barber's Corner at Night

I love the way the neon from Barber's Grill & Taproom, lights up this whole corner at night. I've heard the shop next door has been a barbershop for over 100 years.... Taken in August of 1997. (click for larger view)

Holiday Lights on Main Street

This image of Main St. was taken from the top of the stairs on the lift bridge, looking south. In this time exposure, the car headlights turn into paths of light. Taken in December of 1997. (click for larger view)

Oliver Middle School

This is the Ada Oliver Middle School, which also used to be the Brockport High School years ago. This was taken in September of 1997, right after the expansion. (click for larger image)

Here is another aerial view of Brockport, this time looking west across Main St. I like the way this shows the Erie Canal flowing in a arc around the village. You can see 2 of the 3 canal bridges, parts of SUNY Brockport in the upper left, and Lakeside Memorial Hospital in the upper right. Taken June of 1999. (click for a larger view)
